We offer two bedroom self catering accommodation, situated in Glen Roy in the “Outdoor Capital of the UK“.

Rural Location Close to a Range of Activities

Lochaber is an exquisite location in the Scottish Highlands, combining outstanding natural beauty with a vast range of activities.

With only a few scattered cottages nearby, Lochaber Cottage feels genuinely remote and should appeal to those seeking to get out in the Scottish countryside. Yet the cottage is comfortably furnished, has plenty of heating and is only a pleasant walk or short bike or car journey away from a train station, pub and restaurant in Roy Bridge.

Nearby along a beautiful road alongside the river, Roy Bridge is on the West Highland train line and only 20 minutes from Fort William.

Perfect Location – Outdoor Capital of the UK

The area is known as the “Outdoor Capital of the UK” and can offer:

Ideal Location for the Nevis Range

Sitting on the spacious deck at the back of the cottage  you can see the gondola station on Aonach Mor, part of the Nevis Range.

The Nevis Range is a haven for skiing and hosts the UK’s only official downhill mountain biking competition. It also has a series of tracks for different mountain biking abilities.

From there you can access a quieter route to hike up Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK.

Explore the Local Area

Carrying on up the track alongside the cottage you can walk or cycle for miles enjoying beautiful views all around you. You can also set off up one of the hills lining either side of the Glen.

Opposite are the famous “Parallel Roads of Glen Roy”. These were ancient beaches at various levels along the valley sides, marking the shorelines of a loch confined here by a glacial dam in the last Ice Age.

Glen Roy is a national nature reserve managed by Scottish Natural Heritage. Find out more about Glen Roy.
