The Darwin’s Rest café (and Lochaber Geopark hub) in Roy Bridge has a few essentials such as milk and various crafts and gifts, but for anything more substantial you will have to visit the Spar in Spean Bridge.
The nearest large supermarkets are the Morrisons and Lidl in Fort William (turn right at the roundabout as you arrive in the town centre, just after the train station).
ASDA will deliver to the cottage if you buy groceries on their website but is the only supermarket to do so.
For more specialist local produce try the Lochaber Farm Shop on the road to the Nevis Range, which also has a lovely café and some of the best views of the mountains anywhere.
If you find you have come unprepared there are a number of shops selling outdoor clothing, maps and equipment along Fort William High Street, including the flagship store of Nevis Sports.
Also on the High Street W.H. Smith has a bookstore
There are several petrol stations on the main road through Fort William. Travelling east on the A86 there are no petrol stations or other shops until Newtonmore, 34 miles away.
Fort William car hire will meet you at the train or bus station if you are arriving by public transport.
